Susan Goldberg

Susan launched Susan Goldberg Executive Search Consulting in 2001 when a merry-go-round of mergers of her earlier firms (and her clients) convinced her that her own team was the only way to go.  Since then, she has worked with companies with 50 people to 16,000 people from New York to Atlanta to Chicago to Los Angeles.  With a maximum of 4 searches at any time and virtually no" off-limits" to be able to recruit anyone from anywhere, Susan has filled positions when bigger firms have given up.  With a guarantee of a year, she has only had to refill one position once, which she did successfully.  One of her biggest successes is hiring an SVP to work with an EVP: that duo is so strong that it has remained together as a team, through changing companies five times since. She enjoys working with clients who are hiring for the first time, guiding them through the process.

Prior to opening her own firm, she was the first female Director/Partner with Stratford Group, a leading retained nationwide executive search firm, where she focused on entertainment and new technology clients.
Susan's expertise in entertainment and technology grew from years as a Principal of TMP Worldwide's New York office and a co-founding member of the Communications Entertainment and Technology Practice at Ward Howell. (TMP bought LAI/Ward Howell). Prior to joining TMP/LAI Worldwide, she was a Senior Associate and generalist at NewYork-based executive search firm, Johnson Smith & Knisely where her assignments encompassed entertainment, telecommunications, publishing, information technology, healthcare, financial services, and new media sectors. At that time, she had the most successful placement statistics of the associates in the firm.

Susan's business background started in the marketing field as the Marketing Director for the sales office of a direct marketing firm. She has also spent seven additional years in the marketing industry including time as a private consultant for health and beauty aid, retail and apparel, and industrial services clients.

She received her BA in French literature along with a minor in business from Washington University in St. Louis. She earned her MBA in Marketing & International Business from Pace University in New York City. During her graduate studies, she interned in marketing in Schenectady, New York for GE's Power Generation Services Operations.

Susan is an accredited member of the Association of Executive Search Consultants (AESC). She is the former President of The Executive Search Roundtable. Susan was a member of the Board of the NY IACPR, the Association of Corporate and Professional Recruiters, and held the position of Program Chair.

She lives and works in New York with her collection of eyeglasses and her dog.
